Is it true that its better if you are tall and slim to be a ballerina?

Im 13 and I wanna start ballet so is it like an advantage kinda that im 5'4 1/2 and I weigh 95 pounds? Im not trying to brag or offend anyone.

WHOA!!!! YOU ARE LIGHT-WEIGHT AND I IMAGINE SKINNY! I am not exactly the skinniest person alive, but I do ballet. You don't have to be very skinny or light-weight, but I don't exactly feel comfortable with my figure when I look in the mirror while in my ballet clothes, so yes, being skinny can . . . boost your self esteem. But your skinniness or weight doesn't really matter, as long as you like dancing and are passionate about it. :)

It doesn't really matter what size you are! The only thing that really matters is the love you have for dance! Trust me I know! I was a ballerina for awhile, I was bigger than most of the kids in weight, but no one really cared! They become your family. They don't judge you because your fat, skinny, tall, or short! They love you the way you are!

No, to be a great ballerina, only takes practice and commitment, and the will to exceed.
