what was his defense? and is he is jail awaiting trial or has he been convicted? and if he was convicted did he plea out or was there a jury trial? im currenty researching alot for my husband (much didn't circumstance , but I've come across alot and I may be able to direct you to a helpful site that can answer your questions) good luck
Is it a DUI ? He can't get out till he's eligible for parole. The parole board will look highly upon you forgiving him and wanting him out when that day comes. Friend of mine did that and got 20yrs and was out in 10.
It does make a difference whether or not he has been sentenced or still awaiting in the jail or out on bond. If he is still waiting a good lawyer could try and plea for less time. If he is already sentenced, then he can only get some of his time reduced for the "good time" they offer, which varies according to the offense. There is a minimum & maxium for the sentencing guidelines also. This type of offense is usually under DOC, (dept. of corrections), not a parole board.
