How can I stop eating so much?

Ok so, lately I just can't stop eating. It started after track ended. I'll eat a bunch and I'm never content with it. I mean I'm not overweight at all, but I think that if I keep this up I could be and that's like, my biggest fear. It's also bad because I'm a runner and if I keep a poor diet it could REALLY slow me down... HowI can I stop eating so much?

I do not mean this as a joke. I wish I could stop to. The only advice I can give is that you are use to track keeping you busy. Now you have more time on your hands and could be eating because you are bored. Replace track with something. Maybe a hobby. Learn to do something new or just stay busy. Do puzzles, read, draw, paint, crafts, etc... You already run which is great. Do other forms of exercise. Try Yoga. I think you get the idea. If you still want to snack experiment with healthy foods like raw baby carrots, fruits, etc... When you do eat food that is not that healthy, measure out a portion and put the rest away. Like don't take the bag of chips to the couch. Take a small bowl of chips.

Referring to the above snacking choices, I must add Celery; due to its volume of water, you burn more calories masticating and digesting than is consumed. The calories that are consumed, are dietary fiber so it's expelled anyways :D

Think POSITIVE not negative thoughts.... instead of thinking "I'm not hungry"(the mind will only comprehend the subject of matter "hungry") think, "I'm Satisfied!" ... the difference is you are telling yourself a positive as compared to a negative. The power of the intellect is the most absolute power available!

Another superb technique is the "fuel" technique, consume less than you use, you lose. consume more than you use, you gain. The best way to implement this technique is with a combination of "Tabata-Intervals" (HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training)) with strength trainging (which has a longer lasting metabolic resonance than cardiac training). 15min's of Tabata's is the equivalent to 60min's of running(not jogging) and weight training, which is commonly mistaken to benefit DURING the exertion, makes the body use up to 15% more energy throughout the day and all you need to do is pump some iron for 30, 45, or 60min per day 5days/wk. BEING A WEEKEND WARRIOR (2-3x/wk) WILL HARM YOUR BODY NOT STRENGTHEN IT!

A fiber rule: "For every gram of Dietary Fiber consumed, take away one gram of Carbohydrates."

My Aunt taught me this, she is a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Adviser.

Try to munch on fiber bars. They fill you up and you end up eating less.

I agree, this is a simple digestive "sponge" technique. Make sure that the bar's do not have ANY: Aspartame, Acesulfame (K), Acetone (Also known as Dimethylketone, 2-Propanone, Beta-Ketopropane), Aluminum, Sodium aluminum phosphate, Ammonium Glycolate, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Alkyl-phenol Ethoxylades, Alcohol, Acetaldehyde, Acrylamide/polyacrylamide, Ammonium Persulfate, Benzalkonium chloride, cetrimonium chloride and lauryl dimonium hydrolysed collagen, Benzene, Benzoic Acid, AND MANY MANY MORE. Eat more protein! If you are a runner, than you should be eating 5-6 small meals a day to keep you feeling full and keep your energy levels high. Just make sure to eat at least 20 grams of protein with every meal and you will not want to snack as much throughout the day! You can also check out http://www.skinnymom.com for some more tips on not eating so much!

yeah, there is a well known rule when it comes to protein, "1-1.5g of protein per lb. of body weight." Whey/Egg protein are the optimal proteins for men to use, I believe, for women, they're Soy/Casein proteins.
