Can I keep a saltwater hermit crab as a pet?

I need help because I found this hermit crab in a lobster pot to keep as a pet. It is huge and i have no idea how to take care of it or if it will even live in captivity.

I wouldn't. It needs the ocean.

Aw yeah I understand what you mean but yes you can you just have to have a salt water tank for it not sure how you do that part . My mom saved two turtles that were in her back yard somehow ( she lives on a farm ) well she released them after feeding them and giving them water and stuff an they were attacked and didn't help them self so she saved them again and is now keeping them she had them for about a year now . Sometimes you can't just send the animal back .

You can keep a saltwater hermit crab as pet as long as you can provide a suitable habitat for it to stay in. A saltwater hermit crab requires a suitable habitat that has temperatures above 72F, a 70% humidity level and a substrate flooring that is deep enough for it to bury itself in. for more information, go to www.hermit-crabs.com/care.html.
