Would a short bed Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra would be an affordable truck for an 18year old girl in 2015? What model years would be good?

I'll be 18 in 2015. I'm trying to decide what cars, SUVs, and trucks would be affordable to buy used, affordable gas, and would give me any mechanical issues. I'm into Jeep, Ford, Chevy, GMC, and Pontiac.

Truely, none of what you listed is GOOD on gas. Most imports do much better overall in fuel economy department. yet as a retired auto engineer, here are a few of my picks. Chevy-HHR-Malibu- Volt (if you could afford one) .Imports-Toyota Matrix-mine gets over 43 m.p.g. highway on premium fuel! In this world of diminishing oil supply, fuel economy should always be your first concern-the rest is just a flash in the pan.
