Hi! No Horses do not have the ability to throw up. If they drink after while they are still hot and or winded, they may get what is called colic. This is when their intestines become tangled because they drop to roll. Horses also can get colic from eating too much grain, hot food, fed too many apples in one sitting, or drinking to quickly. Think of us. If you run a mile, as hard and as fast as you can, when you stop, you'll be winded. One thing you may want to do is slam an ice cold glass of water. Drink, Drink, and Drink some more. When you do this, you will feel bloated or throw up! Same with horses! They are hot and sweaty! To get itches off their backs and cool down, the dirt feels good ! They roll! "ridden hard and put up wet," is a statement people have used for many years. That is what it means.. Please don't do this to your horse. Always cool them down! colic can be deadly! Take Care of you and your animals! Happy Trails!
