How can I hide the date I joined Facebook? (please see the additional detail)

I've hidden the date I joined facebook from my timeline and I can't even see the event on my timeline, but It still shows up when I click on "View as"(I don't even have to enter in a name). What should I do to delete it completely?

You can hide your join date from the public, but you have to do it twice. Since you've already hidden it once, follow the steps below. IMPORTANT: Your FB account must have a bit of activity in it so that the "Highlights" tab shows up at the top of the page. It won't show up if you just joined or you just have one or two activities.

1. Go to your Timeline and scroll all the way down until you see "Highlights" up top. The bar should look like this: Your Name>Timeline>Year>Highlights
2. Click the down arrow next to "Highlights" and click "All Stories." Wait for the page to load all the stories. Might take a while if you have a lot of activity.
3. Scroll all the way down again ("Born on" is the last entry) and scroll up a bit until you see your join date.
4. Now click the pencil icon and "Hide" the story for the second time.

That's it. If you don't see your join date, check if you have enough activities. Again, the "Highlights" tab must appear. I know it's a pain in the ***, but should work.

When I hide, it says:
"It will still appear in search, news feed and other places on Facebook."
