Not if they are inside your house and you feel your life is in imminent danger. Shoot them in your yard and yah your in trouble.

When do you use this expression "Green"?
I'm sorry I'm a Filipino. We don't use this in our daily conversation. I just notice this on ask
Report as
Your welcome when they say green on ask they are referring to a green thumb up.

no. if you shot a bugler you could plead self-defense and get out with probably a warning.

I agree with IdioticCreeperkid, you could get taken to prison, unless the burglar tried to hurt you first, you can't just shoot him lol..

Not if you used it as self-defense, if you just randomly shot the burglar then you would be arrested.

Not if you shoot the burglar first, then immediately fired two warning shots.

I agree with kid. The law states that unless the suspect is attacking you or anyone in your home, and you feel your life and the life of others are in danger toy can plead self-defense. Otherwise you can be convicted. Sad that even burglars can be defended when they break in to your Home

You would be arrested. You would probably be let out on a small bond. Then you would have to show up for your court date and convince the judge that it was indeed self defense. Unless you live in Florida. Apparently down there, you can shoot anyone for any reason and get off scott free. (I'm not just talking about the Travon Martin case. Two more cases of Stand Your Ground from FL have been in the news lately.)

I'm sorry but I don't think that every person that enters your home uninvited means you harm. Please don't get me wrong--- NO ONE should enter anyone's home uninvited - but that doesn't mean harm

Not in MS! search the castle law in MS. It's different from the FL stand your ground law.

if you shoot him in the back then yes youll go to jail. if you shoot him in the front you wont and you can claim self defense and say you were in fear of your life.

I think its safe to say that there are MANY factors involved here! Especially if you live in another country. you mentioned somewhere that you're Filipino, are you in the states, or live elsewhere? The laws differ by state and country.
Report as
Yes, I'm a Filipino. I guess we don't have states here. And I didn't hear someone shot a burglar here. But I better check it out. Just really curious. Thanks :)
Report as
:) you're welcome! It's good to educate yourself on things you're curious about! Just don't take everything you read on Ask too seriously! LOL!
We can get silly sometimes! And, as you've probably already noticed, some people just reply with nonsense answers!
Report as
yeah,, I noticed that also. Don't worry. Im just being polite by saying thanks to them even though they're answers sound stupid. Thanks for being nice. :)

If a burglar is in your house it's your option to shoot them keep in mind that most burglaries happen in the city where less people are armed and less happen in the country where everybody has a gun and knows how to use it.First know your weapon and how to use it second remember your surroundings if u jump up just shooting you may do harm to others sleeping or the way houses are built (sheetrock then vinyl siding) consider everything before making that decision in the end just do what you have to do to protect your family and yourself
