Is it necessary to have windows sp2 &sp3 updates 4 win xp? Is it safe to uninstall them?

XP with SP3 in my opinion is the best Window OS they have ever made(still sucks). MS wants everyone to move on to Vista or 7/8. Hard to believe that 40% of PC's still run XP and it's 10 years old. Again my opinion, but I've had my iMac for a year now and it's never so much as had me waiting for a hour glass(color wheel). It's run 100% perfect. Beat that MS

Yes - they contain security patches and other updates that are necessary for it to run properly.

Service Packs indeed contain security fixes that can help against some viruses, add new features and are required for some programs.

And yes, they can be rolled-back though I see no reason for that, oh, and despite what people say, it won't actually make the Windows slower!
