If you had a cat that was pregnant but then she ran away and now she has been gone for 4 days...what should you assume?

she was a stray cat but we found her then all that happened!^^^^

Report as

She probably ran off to have her kittens. Cats try to make it a private thing.

How long will it take her to come back?

My cat had her kittens in my bed :-( Every time I tried to put the kittens down in a box beside the bed she would put them back in my bed. I couldn't even sleep in my own bed because I was afraid i would roll over on them. Apparently she was not a very private cat. Eventually all of those kittens died though, and then someone poisoned my cat and she came home to die, in my bed. It was a sad story really. Her name was squeaky. I still remember that crazy cat.

All cats act differently but mine usually came home right away with kittens in tow.

She might have left to have babies and might come back in a few days

She's probably had the litter in the woods, or nearby & is nursing them. Probably not her first time either. The kittens are not likely to survive or be in good health. Try to find them if you can. If you don't, eventually, trap her & have her spayed immediately. Repeat pregnancies kill young, female stray cats. A common, fatal reproductive uterine infection called pyometra. (Cat will show periodic bleeding from hindquarters.) They suffer horribly & usually don't live more than 3 years.

She found a hiding place for her kittens and in a few days she will be back with them. That's what I assume
