I'm a female and have worked tirelessly for my boss for 15 years. A new girl was hired within the past month. She's pretty, single and somewhat flirtatious with my boss. A promotion just recently was posted and after 15 years of loyalty, I applied for it. The new girl also applied. And got the promotion. This is causing a great deal of strain....There's your intro, now run with it! Good luck!

Sickening - isn't it? See this often. Your boss' brains are his b-lls. Tell you what -very quietly look for other job opportunities, different departments, if you can & feel safe doing so. Pretty sure someone else in that company would love to have you & your experience/talents. Two days after you're gone your boss will quickly realize pretty does not get the job done. Just sayin'.

In most cases, workplace relationships can be a threat to a business due to the conflicts that they may cause. It can lead to rumors, which can destroy the reputation of an employee and the image of the company as a whole. It can also lead to conflicts in the sense that if a junior employee is dating a supervisor or manager; it can lead to cases of favoritism. It is also not a good idea in case the employees have issues and they bring them to the work place as this can lead to disruption. Agree. Ironically, the choice to not get involved with another employee can be equally destructive. You can be labeled a tease or very unkind, should you decide to ignore someone's openly noticeable advances. I'm not kidding, it happens.
