What causes prolonged chest congestion and cough
Prolonged chest congestions and coughs can be caused by allergies, asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis or the common cold or flu. You should see a doctor soon for examination and prescription of correct treatment depending on your condition.
Bronchitis will do that.
Lots of things. Bronchial infection, smoking, (emphysema) allergies, tuberculosis, pertussis/whooping cough, even acid reflux disease can do it.
For prolonged coughing and chest congestion, it can indicate a few causes like colds, asthma, GERD, bronchitis, Pertussis, Sinusitis, Croup, Pneumonia, etc.
All of the above + Congestive Heart Failure. Get it checked out by MD. hopefully nothing worse than a bad cold or bronchitis.
