Is it bad for a 30 year old to go out and have fun?!

Report as

Depends on wether you have kids at home, and also wether you are going out once in a while or several times a week. Also what do you mean having fun? Out to dinner and a movie? Or getting trashed and driving???

Those are the points that needed clarifiction. He hasn't given any clue at all as to whether he means, Am I still young enough to enjoy life, or Is it ok to be selfish and irresponsible.

Good answer.

In my opinion; no it is not bad at all, 30 years is still young and have to enjoy his/her life and have fun with friends or family.

30 is hardly too old for havin fun. Although, you just have to be aware of where you have your fun, or people might be skeptical of your true intentions.

Define "Fun."

As a 33 year old, there are some things that some would call fun that you shouldn't be doing.
Hanging out a a video arcade....fun but a man your age will draw looks if you aren't with a kid. (same thing at a Chucky Cheese)

Going to a college Kegger...fun but also probably not where a man your age should be anymore.

"Meat Market" dance clubs...fun and you could still pull this off, but at a certain age you start becoming sad.

This is the age you need to be showing some progress in your career, buying a bed frame, keeping your guitar in a case, and flossing everyday. We are full blown adults now, so we can still go have fun...but not windup in jail or on a website that parent's check when they are buying a house in a new neighborhood.

Hahaha! "buying a bedframe"

Ya mean, no more flopping on a mattress on the floor? Lol JHamilton

When I bought my first bed frame, I was wondering out loud why I needed it, then when I got my first grow-up apartment with wood floors and a girlfriend, and neighbors...I thought, "oh this is why...!"
Same thing with flossing, crack your first tooth and have a root canal, and pay your own dentist bill you learn why you take preventative steps in your own best interests.

At 30, you aren't a rookie anymore...you go out drinking at 30...you know exactly which beer is the one that counts as "too many." You don't get caught with out condoms, forget to take the pill, lose your underwear...etc.

Fun at 30 just has to mean a little something different than it did at 20.

I wholeheartedly agree. I gave you that green thumb last night and am VERY surprised you ended up with a few downers-- your answer is both funny and wise

It is fine to have fun but please remember at thirty our definition of fun has matured. Most if all remember if a female act and carry yourself as a lady and male should be a responsible passionate man who loves to do right. Fun is relative, just be good and true to you

As long as you are cool with it, it is not wrong to go out when you are 30 years old. What matters is what you do and how you behave when you are out parting. Avoid doing things that you will later regret or things that are questionable.

Heck no!!!! Party it up! Life only comes around once. But, a smart adult now... You should know hangovers are much much worse and you still have responsibilities that you can't get away from.

What's wrong with having fun? As long as you don't neglect your responsibilities. Go have some fun for me too. :) I have lil ones at home that still need me at night. but when they don't, I'm a dancing queen, wahoo!!!

Geeez. You're not ancient at 30. I mean for many of us when we are (or in my case when I was) 30 we may have more responsibilities and serious stuff to deal with but that doesn't mean we can't have fun.

Absoluty not! My mom is in her mid forties and still goes out dancing with old friends from high school. They act like it's 1981 all over again. Nothing wrong with having fun at thirty.

The answer is obvious--but is there a catch? Like a wife waiting at home with the kids? And no money for a sitter? (or the beer?)
