What is the difference between raisins, currants and sultanas?
They all come from grapes don't they?
The difference between raisins, currants and sultanas is that raisins are dried black fruit, mostly from white grapes. Currants are dried, black, seedless grapes while sultans are seedless, sweet small raisins. They all come from grapes.
Sultana raisins are golden raisins, Currants are actually berries however in some places, the dried fruits sold at grocery stores as “currants” are actually dried Zante raisins from Greece.
