Develop a regular uninterrupted sleep schedule. Try to block out as much light as possible when you sleep. Caffeine, physical and mental activities are only coping method once you get sleepy. To actually avoid being sleepy, you need to change the circadian rhythm of your body (natural sleep/wake cycle). This requires regular uninterrupted sleep patterns and convincing your body it is nighttime when you sleep. At least at first until your sleep cycle adjusts.
Sleep 8 hours during the day,some people work grave yard shift and then try and live on 4 hours sleep that won't work.Take foods that give energy OJ to drink and not heavy things that make you want to lay down.Listen to all night radio station if you can. Remember they are having to stay up all night too so he or she is going to keep it lively.Hardest point to stay awake is just before day break ,take a walk around at that time if possible.That is all I think of hope it helps:)
