Why is hard to stop clinging on to your past rather than letting go all the pain you still have of your burden of sadness within?

It sounds more painful bringing up the past to others..to talk about.

Moving on Sounds really hard to do and it is. The thing here is commitment to commit yourself to let go of the past and BE HAPPY and APPRECIATE what you HAVE RIGHT NOW. Be Thankful. Love everyone, if you spread your love enough that you start to feel like you love everyone you meet. It gets back to you. Everyone starts loving you back. LOVE is the answer to everything, it really is.

A good start would be, to start spending time with the people you love most, family, friends, relatives. It will get your mind off of your problems, and/or you can talk to them about it. IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL MUCH BETTER TO TALK ABOUT IT WITH REAL people. It will help you accept the fact that THE THE CHANGE IS NEEDED TO BE DONE.

THE BIGGEST CHANGES in life are the hardest one's to make. Our true character also shows under adversity. SHINE AND BE BOLD find your life follow it and be yourself all the way!

because we see our faults and wish we could have fixed our mistakes or done the thing we didn't do that we now regret not doing. It hard because the past is what we know for sure whereas the future is uncertain so its easier to get stuck in the past because its comfort and is familiar.

the thing about the past is everyone tells you to let it go
but thats impossible i mean its a part of you
so you can either cut that part out of your life
or learn from it and build on it

I grew up being taught the phrase, before i could understand it, "Just imagine how good it will feel when it stops hurting" You just have to keep your head up and stay focused of all of the positive things ahead of you. Eventually the past will make sense and stop hurting.

There are some events in some individual's pasts that trite sayings and cliches don't cover. In fact there have been some I have actually taken offense at. There are some wounds that really don't heal or go way. But when I became an adult I did make a choice not to do the same things that were done to me, to my kids or to other people. Whenever I'm really hurting, I can take a little comfort in knowing I broke the cycle of sickness and weakness. It ended with me. We can't fix the past. But we can do a lot about how our future turns out. I refuse to let them take my life. You can too.

People are genuinely compassionate and will try encourage each other. The past events have already taken place. That which was painful needs to be addressed for healing to take place. Try to work things out with the help of close friends, or a counselor can be helpful. Finally remember this.. You will be a great help to many others because you understand the feeling of sorrow.
