Does all Wedding 'China' come from China?

When a couple registers for China dishes, have those plates been MADE in China? Why is it called "China"? Can one obtain authentic China from Taiwan or London, for example? Just curious.

China dishes do not necessarily come from china and therefore you can get authentic dishes from Taiwan or London. The dishes are given the name because they originally came from china where they have been made for centuries.
