What do you pay for if you are using an amazon account on your kindle fire

I am about to buy a kindle but I don't know if there is any difference using the amazon account or nothing

To pay for your kindle account, you are to visit the manage your kindle section. Click on the kindle payment settings and click on edit to update your payment then follow the onscreen instructions to choose a mode of payment, for more information, visit www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_k2start_pay?nodeId=200375510&#pay.
