What makes a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse the same

A solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse are the same in that they all involve astronomical objects, which are temporarily obscured. These objects are obscured either by passing into the shadow of another body or by having another body pass between them and the viewer.

they are both eclipses, but solar is of the sun and lunar is of the moon.
