Should I fix hail damage on a 1 year old car

I plan to keep the car until it's paid off in 4-5 years, but if I were to try to trade it in before that, to trade up, would mild hail damage make a difference in trade-in value? The car is a 2010 with damage you can only see on close inspection.

I just put mine in the shop it's five months old. I don't want my value depreciated

Yes, hail damage reduces the car's value considerably.

A car depreciates 30 percent a year, and that is assuming it is in good condition. Any damage drops the value beyond that.

Yes. If you have another hail storm, the insurance company won't pay for it if you didn't get it fixed the first time

Since you plan on keeping the car until it is paid off in the next 4 to 5 years, I think it would be wise if you made the repairs on the car early enough since there is a big depreciation in the cost of vehicles around the country per year. Check out the link below for more details on how to do the repairs http://www.hailrepaircentral.com/hail-damage-repair-information-for-cars.aspx and http://editorial.autos.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=434597.
