My moms computer shuts down when it's too hot and the screen goes white, plus it freeze's a lot. what can it be

every time i play on facebook, the pc freeze's if i don't change the battery plan, when i'm on youtube.com and it hot it freeze's

If it's a laptop make sure it can breath through the vents & the battery hang it on a chair so it's not laying flat also make sure it stays free of dust and bugs maybe it has a virus also good luck with it
