Is an employer still interested in you if they say they will call you in 4-5 days?

I went to an interview with Sports Authority and was told the interviews process would be over in 4-5 days. I was told they would call if they were still interested. Does that mean they are still interested in maybe hiring me for the job or do they say that to everyone?

Who knows - it could be either. There is a deadline for when interviews are over so that would make sense that if you were one of the finalists, they would call you after the initial round of interviews was done. It could also mean that they were just trying to be nice. I would wait the five days, and if you don't hear anything, call them on the 6th day and tell them that you are still interested and why you would be a good fit for the job. You can ask if they have made a decision or if they would like you to come in for a follow-up interview. Hope it works out for you!

That means they are looking at all of the applicants. Write a follow up letter ASAP. (I do it that day & mail it) If no answer, send a 2nd follow up letter. This at least's let them know you're serious & forces them to call or write you an update on the job.
