It might be swelling causing his cheeks to hurt I wouldn't use the warm towels I would use ice in a ziplock rolled into a beach towel tied with rubber bands or pinned on top of the head. 20 min on 15 off. No hot food cool to room temp then eat. The swelling does hurt. Keep rinsing with the salt water cause it speeds healing. No straws. No spitting. If it gets worse go in and see for check up each day should get better. 3 out of 4 of us have no wisdom teeth, Good luck!

Nope that's aboutt it. His dentist should've given him some prescription thingys and you just have to take those to like save-ons or Walgreens and give em the prescription and just wait like half an hr and that's all for the pain. Did his dentist give em any prescription?

His dentist gave him two Prescriptions and he uses them

Then that's pretty much all he can do for the pain. At least when I had my wisdom teeth pulled out, that's all my dentist told me to do (and rinse mouth w/ warm water & salt)

What usually helps with the swelling is lying with your head elevated on pillows, eat only soft foods like canned peaches and apple sauce, and make sure to take some days off after the surgery for recuperation. Read more: http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/wisdom-tooth-extraction.

The pain should be subsiding and he should be feeling better. Ice will only help for the 1st 48 hours. If pain gets severe he probably has a dry socket. That is painful. Then go back to dentist.
