I just had the same thing. My understanding from the dentist office is that it could be a number of things.
It might be a gum infection, such as gingivitis, or an abscess from a nearby broken tooth.
In my case, my blister/cyst must have opened by itself; within 2-3 days it drained and the swelling in my cheek went away. The drainage was mostly watery with a little blood, so the dentists office advised using mouthwash at night, and saltwater rinses during the day. This combination was to keep my mouth as clean as possible, during that drainage time. I have to get in to the dentist office this week to have my gums checked, to rule out further problems.

It really was. But the thought of the dentist bill is gonna hurt worse!
I never could understand why you can't get decent dental insurance for a reasonable price. I think that's why so many of us have problems with our teeth as we get older. Maybe not. Lol

You can't get any insurance for a decent price. Unfortunately.

And the insurance keeps getting worse. My husband has worked for the same place all 20 years of our marriage, & my mom worked there before that, so I had the same medical insurance for all but 1 of 30 years, then this past January, they chose to change! I already have 4 good reasons why I HATE the new insurance, but if it saves the employer money, that's what they care about most.

That is a sign of an infection in your tooth. You need to seek medical dental attention to further examine the tooth. http://www.toothiq.com/dental-information/page.aspx?id=ddc2857f-2fd5-48c2-b42e-96019e24adbd.

It's probably a fistula. You have an abcess. You need antibiotics. If you don't get it treated it could be dangerous.

It sounds like a kanker sore to me (I used to get them all the time) it's a very minor sore caused by a certain vitamin deficiency that is very common. Just rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide for a few days and it should go away, and use orajel to numb the pain. Hope this helped!

Could b an abscessed tooth if the bump is producing puss. That may be the drainage spot. Get to dentist. It will only go away w help

Ignore it or it will leave a scar in your mouth if you pop it. It may also get infected if you do so wait for it to go down.

I agree with CLP up there. I too have this problem only mine was like a blackish blister above a tooth that was sore to the touch.I cried for 2 days with horrible pain and I started penicillin and taking mild pain killers. I am usually a go go go go girl but this knocked me out! I can't seem to wake up or do my normal activities but feel like it is getting better! Chin up and hope ur pain free...Melissa
