Can a PlayStation 3 play PlayStation 2 games

Depends on the game. Some ps2 games refused to play on my
Ps3. Some played like a dream!

Well if you have the older one you can but the ps3 slim can't.

If you got the ps3 with backward compatability it will be able to do for some ps2 games
