Is my toe broken? read details

I was going downstairs and i was in the living room and i had a balloon in my hand and i was looking at it, instead of looking where i was going, and i ran into the couch and my toe hurts really bad. I can barely move it but it REALLY hurts when i move it and i can't walk on it. Is it broken, please help!! :/

I have the same problem, I recently injured my toe too! ;) If if you can wiggle it left to right it might not be broken, if it hurts to bend on the knuckle then you may have hyper-extended/dislocated it. If swelling doesnt go down in a week or so and it still hurts its most likely dislocated, if you can't wiggle it left to right it is probably broken, for now use medical or just any tape and tape it to 1 of the neighboring toes, keep ice on it, and definately walk on it as little as possible, and considering it is just a toe I would take some pain killers and go to the doctor in the morning! good luck! hope it's not broken or anything severe! :)

A subluxation or partial dislocation of the toe is extremely painful. Even more so than a broken toe. If it is jammed you can pull on it but it hurts very bad. Try wearing a lace up shoe. It will hurt but it may help keep it in a normal position and it may help. I have had both broken and particularly dislocated toes and they both are very painful but the par dislocation is unbearable.
