Is light can't escape from the event horizon of black hole or red shifted (can't even detect) light escapes ?

Information is not lost, however.

A 25 year old debate between Hawking and Susskind took place over this question - Hawking lost. Check out Leonard Susskind on Amazon - he wrote a book covering this topic.

Light cannot escape. One may also say that the source getting closer and closer to the event horizon, the spectrum gets redshifted more and more, unboundedly so. But light emitted exactly on the event horizon will stay forever on the event horizon, neither escape to infinity nor fall inside.
