If erectile dysfunction pills are.going to cause problems would it be while the man was involved in intercourse?

or could it still cause problems the next day or a couple days later. My husband has been having chest pains and hasn't went to dr. I finally convinced him to make an apointment and he has 1 wednesday.. I also told him not to take these until after he goes to doc and talks to them about it. Then I found out this morning he took a "man up" pill last night.
