How do I tell her? SHe doesn't care. Read details.

my moms making me go to a counselor 3 hours a day for 3 days a week. I don't need this! I dot need a counselor. now it interferes with my personal life like hangin out with friends and sleeping in! and it's summer!!! she doesn't care. I told her I don't feel I need it and it's gonna ruin the summer. she doesn't care. how to I get her to not make me go?

Yeah, that response to the first answerer proves to me that you do need counseling. Best to just keep quiet and accept what your mom wants and everyone's advice here. You will not win any support to your side by making comments like that. Seriously, your mom wants to help and you do need it

If you think "cutting yourself" and running away is an answer to having to spend 9 measly hours in counseling a weak then you have serious problems and do need counseling. If your dad doesn't recognize this, maybe he needs to spend more time with you and go to counseling as well.

If you are serious, then go and show your response to the first answer to your father. Let him read it in its entirety. Then ask him if he thinks you need counseling. If you won't do this, then maybe you're worried you might actually need counseling. Show him the part about cutting yourself and running away. I personally don't care if you think I'm helpful. You posted your question on a public forum. You can't expect everyone to just side with you. It's a childish attitude to think anyone that disagrees with you doesn't want to help you. It explains why you can't see your mom want to help. I don't care if you like my answer, if you give me a stupid green thumb, if you find this useful. I do care that you get the help you need. Period. Save your jabs for the next guy. It doesn't affect me.

I knew something was wrong with this counselor! Everything I ever told my counselor was told to my mom even though my counselor promised not to tell. And now my moms using everything I said in counseling against my dad in court. So now I don't get to see my da that much. You have no idea

Well you must have said some bad things about your dad if the court felt the need to limit his time with you. Maybe he doesn't understand you as well as you think he does.

I never said one bad thing about my dad because he has not done a horrible thing. They twisted everything i said. Dont act like a smart a** you have no idea what happened i was telling you a brief thing about what happened.

The counselor promised she wouldnt say a word. She promised twice. She lied. I am not going there anymore more but my mom may force me to. Also the reason we go to this specific counselor is a lie. Enough said. I dont want to give out any more info. I feel you have no need to know. You didnt help me. You seem as if your not interested in what im saying and you seem to not look from my side of the problem. So nevermind. You dont have to reply because i dont care.

Actually, she does care that’s why she is taking you to a counselor. However, you should let her know how you feel. Make sure she is having a good day then tell her calmly that you don’t feel like you need a shrink. If she insists, ask her why and don’t become combative. Cooperation will work better for you if she insists. You mom wants the best for you even though it doesn’t seem like it at the moment.

She doesn't care what I say. And she won't listen. But really 3 hours for 3 days!? That's just pathetic. Maybe if I cut myself and said I was gonna run away then I'd need counseling but not now. I'm just a normal kid.

Maybe try doing nice things everyday like maybe doing the dishes for her with her not helping you, vaccuming, sweeping the floor , makig your bed, keep your room clean washing the windows or cleaning the bathroom. But when your doing those things try not to complaine at all and try doing all of those things i bet it would work. Hope i can help!

You are the one need to prove to yourself, you are growing up with independent and responsible to your action then you can talk to your mom out of it. Your mom are love and concern about your welfare that is the reason she want you to go to counsellor.

Well I was having the same problem. Even the same situation, I told my mom over and over I didn't need it,but she wouldn't listen. One day I told her I hated her and she died the next day. I have no idea what the point is to my answer but maybe you just need to sit her down and talk to her. Well bye :)
