It would cause the oceanic tides to grow stronger and these large tides can cause destruction of life and property.

Dont worry about it, the Moon is actually moving away from earth. Only a few centimeters per year, though. But that's not good either. In a couple of hundred million years we will have a problem with that...

no way in that time the moon uused to be 35 feet from earth now look its aprox 238000 miles from earth maybe in a thousnd or 300 yrs maybe

In 100 Mio years the Moon will have receded another 38.000km from Earth, at its current rate of receding - though it seems the process is speeding up over the time, so its perhaps more like 50.000km. So in about 1 Billion years it will be twice as far away as it is now, or even further. But I doubt that will be much of a worry for the human race by then. ;-)

The moon actually is in an elliptical orbit around the earth. The moon affects the tides and earth's gravity in an infinitesimal amount. If it were to move closer than the normal orbit it could affect the tides and flood coastal regions, earth's crust movement that could result in earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

we'd live and not die because the moon controls the tides but if the moon was gone the sun would take over and world wide tsunamis and when dinosaurs roamed earth the moon orbited earth 35 feet from the surface and the moon moves away from earth 3 cm a year little more than an inch
