Do pet rats carry diseases?

Yes rats do carry diseases and they can be transferred to humans. Some of the diseases include hemorrhagic fever, leptospirosis and hantavirus. Many of these diseases can be deadly or fatal if not treated.

No not all rats, just rats that have been roaming around and have contracted the disease.

Living in close contact with any animal can cause illness. Rats can carry disease, but if it's a pet rat from like a pet store, it'll probably be clean.

yes rats like all pets can carry diseases but you can prevent diseases by keeping the rats cage clean and getting it vaccinated
