Most thunderstorms seem to happen at night...why does that happen? I'm just curious.
That is just where you live. Where I grew up they would happen almost daily around 4 pm. Thunderstorms happen when cold and warm air collide causing an unstable air mass.
Something to do with the air cooling, I think.
Because there more moister in the air because the sun is gone where the sun did all it could
Lightning is a plasma which is formed from super heated gas. The gas is the water vapor in the clouds like it's about to rain. I don't know why it would form at night easier than day cause that's when it's cooler.
What gator said. Good job gator!
