Cocker Spaniel, Labrador, German Shepard
If u want smart loyal and very easy to train then a Buchon Frise is the best. Although small, They may not just quite be purse dogs though. But they're so smart and I think they're great! I wish this thing would let me put pics. I have a bichon pup u would love! ... ha! I changed my profile pic to the pup!
Lots of different dogs are lots of different cool, but my bichon, well he just rules. Yapper this and giant dog that, get a bichon. They're the best. And that's a fact!
If you like the Chihuahua then you should get a Yorkshire Terrier which also has pointed ears and does not need a lot of attention. The dog has a huge personality and it is an affectionate companion.
Labs are great companions. So are Pomeranians and they stay small forever and are absolutely adorable.
Bloodhounds and Old English bull dogs are great!!!!
Golden Retrievers are the sweetest! They are great family pets, love their owners (when treated right), and love to have fun!
American bulldog
Keeshond.
If you want your dog to be aggressive and snappy then by all means never put it on the ground. If you want an easy to train dog you are not going to find it in the toy breeds, they can be some of the hardest breeds to train and they be very nippy and yappy.
Toy poodle's rock. All they want is affection, they're not yappy, they don't shed, and they're really really smart. And they're small so they're easy to tote around.
I think labradoodles are easy to train and I have got one and they don't grow very big. Hope this helps!!
The best place to find a dog is through a rescue group, no matter what breed you're looking for. It gives you have the satisfaction of knowing that your "baby" is being saved. My advice on breeds is to do a lot of research, find the one with personality traits that work best for you, and then visit the websites of local rescue groups (or SPCA) to find the one that feels right. Rescue groups will arrange for a visit with the pup, so you can meet him/her and see how you feel about it. Good luck!
Labs are a wonderful dog. I've had them most of my life. But they are not small and require daily exercise. I would recommend a miniature poodle or a favorite of mine the Westhighland Terrier (Westie). Good Luck
If you decide to get a big dog get a lab... It's a GREAT dog. But if u want a small one get a chihuahuas
I am partial to the Rottweiler. However, I good mix will live longer.
Get a lab. There great family dogs, super nice, there fur is so easy to groom that you don't need to brush. They are cute no matter what they do, since they are breed to hunt they will play catch very well. They chase the ball or whatever ever time. They are fun and plus good guard dogs.
Beagle! they come in 2 sizes and are very sweet and good with kids too! I am on my 2nd!
I would say to get a mix I have a Chihuahua mix and his great with my two year old nephew but has the cuteness of Chihuahua. Hope this helps.
I have a wonderful Lab cross, who trained quickly and easily and is a great watchdog as well as a good pal to me. However, he definitely wouldn't fit into a purse -- nor would he permit you to try; he has standards to uphold, you know! LoL. Personally, I prefer mixes: my previous pooch was 15 years old when that heavenly kennel finally beckoned...
Your other good bet would be a shih tzu. My girlfriend had one and he was smart and sensitive and virtually trained himself. Easy to carry, in your purse or even under your arm.
A really cute breed is the Coton de Tulear or the Havanese. They both look the same but there are some slight differences. Both come in cream , white, or cream-white and they are both relatively small breeds. Look up a picture and you'll see how cute they are!
LHASA APSO! They are very much llike a shi-tzu, but get just a tad bit smaller. They are very smart (it took me less than twenty minutes to teach mine to sit when she was a pup; I also taught her stay and lay when she was over a year old). Mine is one and a hald, and is so funny! She fetches and whines more than she barks! Which is super cute, considering that she sounds human when she does it. They barely shed (you don't notice it--AT ALL) and are hypo-alergenic. To me, their just a bit more playful and less serious than a shi-tzu, but are also very protective and loving! I once had to leave out of town for a few days and left my baby at a vacationa kennel. When I got her back, she wouldn't let me out of her sight for days! I take her with me when I kleave now :)
The Finnish Spitz is beautiful, and my friend has an adorable beagle mother-bulldog father cross that has the aesthetic of a beagle, albeit with a shorter snout, and the playfulness of a bulldog.
If you want a medium size dog, very easy to train and very smart get a border collie. I got
a border collie puppy from a shelter and she is the smartest dog I have ever owned.
If you want a small dog get a toy fox terrier it wont fit in a purse but is full of energy and you don't have to do much grooming.
miniature pincer. small, short hair, smart, good energy level
small (under 4 Kgs) travel well, long life. Have had 4 and current pet.
Please check the shelters after looking up small breeds and the strength of crosses and 'mutts'! If you're set on having a purebred, please look into rescues. There are many that are breed specific.
a maltise, bishon frise, and miniature pincher sound good for what your looking for
Springer Spaniel. And also German Shepard/New Foundland mix. Very sweet dogs.
From what you described, small, easy to groom, and are very sweet and affectionate, miniature Bull Terriers are cute, easy to groom, and aren't very big. But Beagles "I had one, very sweet and no trouble with grooming" are very fun and kind of small dogs.... But if your not sure, go to the shelter or humane society, you'll find lots of dog breeds there!
well... if you want a GREAT family dog that is easy to train a Golden retriever but one thing is they shed so we keep ours outside and she has a boat garage with aq doggie door and she NEVER bites so if you want that type of dog or a Lab but they shed just not as much but that is my opinion i dont know what others think... if you et a golden retriver i suggest getting a FUMANATOR it takes off all of the loose hair and you will have no problem grooming then and all you have to do i groom them once or ones every two weeks for knots and stuff bath them once a month or once ever two months. ya a dog is a lot of work i am just warning ya!!
my honest opinion would be for you to get a Pitbull because with the proper training they can be almost as good as a labrador retriever. ive grown up around pitbulls all of my life and i love them to death. good choice of a dog if you like a dog that is very active
Labs all the way! :) They behave well and make awesome family dogs!
Jackson <3
Once again, it appears that 90% of people answering this question didn't really read it as so many of you suggested LARGE breed dogs. I guess people just want an excuse to put their two cents in.
No puppies are easy to train! Especially Chihuahuas! Small dogs in general are harder to train. Potty training takes a lonnnnnggg time. But if you put the time in, a Chi is a great dog! Just make sure you train well, or they will bark a lot, and bite a lot, and pee in the house. Good luck!
A rescued dog is always best because they seem grateful after being adopted. Which is where I would get a pit bull. They are smart, loyal and very lovable. They used to be America's number One family dog in the early 1900's until jerks started fighting them. Some are dog aggressive but they are the best family dog you could ever have.
LABRADOODLE!!!!! they dont shed, not many people are allergic to them and THEYRE SO CUTE!!!!!
retriever sheet zoo and they are pretty easy going dogs. another good breed is a golden retriever. most of the dogs in the animal shelter are good calm dogs.
Try a Boston Terrier or a Cocker Spaniel
Answer this question...that depends on your lifestyle. If your very active and a runner or bike rider an Alaskan Huskie may be a good choice. If you are more laid back you might consider a lap dog. It's important to think about how your lifestyle will affect the quality, HEALTH, and happiess of your dogs life as well as well as what would make you happy. After all you most probably will love you dog and want what is best for him/her.
I love the hound group - We've always had beagles, bassetts and they are low maintenance, mild mannered (even with children) loving, kind, etc. However, one must have a fenced yard as their natural instinct is to hunt. Again, we've had hounds for 30 years and they accumulate to living indoors very easily. We've had other dog breeds that have worked out well but none as easy as our bassett and beagles.
i have a chihuahua dauschund mix love her.... remember tho "purse size" dogs are often harder to potty train.... I will say all the dogs weve had the mixed breeds have been the best. other than our beagles who are rabbit dogs, we stil with "mutts" they make the best pets check out ur local shelters.... they can give ou information on diff breeds they have
i would say any kind of lab they are playful and great with children they love to cuddle to!!!
husky,golden,or chiba
Labs are great they may not stay small but they are cute and loyal,
Well I have a Beagle there very territorial with others but very sweet after a while. Also their good hunting dogs with rabbits in the winter with a hunting licence.
everyone is going to say different things. I say just choose the dog you like the most. That's always the right answer.
I have a german shepherd. they get big they are easily trainable and loving. Many dogs you could easily train to walk along side of you
Golden Retriever!!! I love my golden retriever, he is so sweet and lovable!
I would say get an Alaskan Klee Kai, they're small, pretty easy to groom, and very affecionate and loyal.
TOY POODLE!!!!!!!!!!! Small, cute, no shedding, one of the smartest dog breeds, and awesome swimmers. They're always show dogs! They are the perfect small dog. Chihuahuas have a lot of aggression issues and bark A LOT. They are not the best small dog. Another good choice to consider is a Yorkshire Terrier (yorkie).
One of friend in India Suggested Indian Origin SightHound Dog Chippiparai - Which is a rare and good breeds of Dog. May be you try it! Check that in facebook. It might be Useful and Interesting to you! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chippiparai-Dog-an-Indian-Dog-Community/106905579380664
Maltese mixed with a Lhasa Apso. They are adorable and great for training!
My daughter and son-in-law purchased a miniature dachshund which seems to meet your requirement for small, easy to groom, LARGE purse-rideable, and they have a better disposition than a Chihuahua. Chihuahuas are a one-person kind of dog, where the dachshund is friendlier and easy to train. And they are short haired so you don't need to groom them so much.
I have a Bichon Frise they are small and white and my dogs hair is about 2 1/2 inches and i got her when i was little and rarely brushed and her fur is still soft, and long enough to be pet. I love her! She learned to roll over, sit, stay, and lie down when she was 5 months old. Some of them have poofy hair but my dog s hair isn't. A Maltese is also great and a little smaller than a Bichon Frise but they have similar personalities. I hope this helped!
i own 3 pit bulls and they love other dogs and kid's they say they are mean beacse the people trained them to fight they are loving and friendly dogs... so i say PIT BULLS :)
A Prince Charles Chevalier Spaniel is a great little dog used in old england as a lap dog for ladies in carriages this pooch is a real lap lover...or a mix with this breed in it. (This is not a true Spaniel but in the chihuahua family)
