I have 2 long bamboo poles an they have a metal pointed end on each pole..only on one end of the poles..does anyone know what these are?

The bamboo poles might be for pole vaulting. This is a height jump that is made in track and field events with the support of a elongated, bendable pole. The pole is used to leap over a parallel crossbar without knocking it down.
