Hi mike!! I know better .the issue is that I am the extreme opposite. I throw away everything, usually right away.( My friends say I May have been poisoned in another life :). Anyway,I think I am looking for strength in numbers kinda thing, to help with my leftover obsessive/compulsive food disorder. : ). I just throw so much out. Btw, you guys tend to be alot more liberal in your leftover choices, so Iam sure you are not alone in your moldy sauce feast !!! ; ). P.s. The sauce was already thrown away before the question. Thanks again mike!!!!!

I suggest only about 4 or 5 days after.

I think thats a little too long. I wouldnt eat it after 2
Report as
I think it depends on whether it has meat. If it has meat in it, I would only keep it for 2 days.
Report as
Thanks everyone. No meat. However I am usually cautious and wonder if it's a waste.
Report as
Well, unless you're in the mood for spaghetti again in the next 2-4 days, I probably wouldn't keep it. Or I'd look up recipes using it.

We eat spaghetti once a week. I always use half the jar one week, refrigerate, and use the rest the next week. Never had a problem.

If in doubt, smell whatever it is and look at its appearance. If it looks or smells funny, throw it out! Lol

10 days if kept refrigerated.. 6 months if you know how to cook the sauce in the jar and seal it as it is just below boiling. learn home canning and you can save your favorite stuff for half a year even unrefrigerated!

I would say about a week. You can freeze it too, that's what my mom does. ~Alicia
