Well Life is one of my favorite board games, in which you pick your color of car, and the color of peg you use, be it pink or blue. You spin a dial, to find out how many spaces you go, and all throughout the game you run into obstacles, pay bills, earn money, get married, and have lots of kids sometimes. First to the end wins. :)
In my opinion, the real definition of life is having a purpose where you choose your own life's meaning. You need to live which is involves going through different stages of your life and trying to always make the right decision until your end. Learning from mistakes and picking up from where you left off in the continuous cycle is what I believe life to be. See more details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_life.
Life is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have signaling and self-sustaining processes from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased (death), or else because they lack such functions and are classified as inanimate. Another criteria is the ability to reproduce, after absorbing external energy (food, sunlight ect) and converting it.
