Is "cat-nip" wise in trying to lure a cat close enough to pick up? We did feed the cat but she got skittish.

Town decided to round up the cats and bring them to the county shelter. No good can come of that.

Most cats react to catnip by rolling, flipping, rubbing, and eventually zoning out. They may meow or growl at the same time. Other cats become hyperactive, running around like their tails are on fire, and some get downright aggressive, especially if you approach them.

Cat nip can tend to make cats a little crazy. So I wouldn't suggest it.

Try sitting near the cat food and talking to the cat while it eats. Then move the dish closer for the next few days to overcome its fears. Works for me.
