Since "I don't know "answers ARE added to our answered tally, Why would ANYONE want to continue to try to give straight,answers?

Actually though, "IDK"/"I don't know" answers, or any other answers that are off-topic or not directly addressing the question that is being asked can be removed, as they are a violation of the Community Guidelines. So it really makes much more sense to give a good answer, otherwise you are at risk for having the answer deleted.

Keep in mind as well that for those people who are signed up for the "Answers for a Cure" program, answers that are removed do not count for a donation. Not to mention accounts that continually are having content removed can be at risk for having further action taken on their account . It's not something that we like to do, but it can happen.
