What can I possibly do for an itchy Chihuahua? (Skin problem.)

He's itching like crazy and scratching himself frenzily. It's apparently not fleas, and his partner, also a Chihuahua, has no such ailment. Problem is much worse during warm months. Need help.

I would probably take him to the vet. he might just have allergies. Hope your doggie feels better (:

Your dog could be itching because of a food allergy, contact dermatitis, parasites or fungal infections. Food allergies are the most probable because the other Chihuahua is okay. I would advise you to take him to a veterinary. For more details, go to http://www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/pdfs/dogs/dogsitch.pdf.

What kinda food do you give him we had this problem and it was the food most dog food company's use fillers in there food wheat ect went to the brand blue buffalo and it solved the problem you might try mixing some olive oil with the food just a little like a few table spoons it helps to solve dry skin

I would try a grain free dog food, as most allergies are grain related. We use Taste of the Wild, though blue has a grain free also, it just costs more.
