You mean black people? Most likely in third class unfortunatly. Not all black people are from Africa. The term, for some reason, came about in the 1980s. Once we become American citizens we are called Americans unless we have dual citizenship.
That's the best way I've ever heard someone explain that I'm a black man and quit calling me Afro-american. You don't hear people calling a white man Caucasian American or Irish or Dutch American. I guess our country that we help build is still in denial.
