What is the difference between a jurisdiction and a tribunal?

Jurisdiction is the authority granted to a legal body or to a political leader. They deal with and make decisions on legal matters within a defined area of responsibility. On the other hand, tribunal is an institution or a person that has the authority to judge or determine claims or disputes. An example of this is a judge that is sitting on a case may be called the tribunal.
