well i quite after i reached bass g
Report as
Well, that's the music I played in elementary school. In eighth grade, playing piano, much tougher music. Although in school they never teach stuff as hard as what I try to play in my free time, so perhaps they have easy music.
Report as
Still.... Discombobulate is an epic song. Started on it two days ago, almost learned the entire thing. It's from the Sherlock Holmes movie. (The movie I'm obsessed with) based on the book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (A book I'm obsessed with XD). Look it up, and see how epic I am.....

The Flute, but I agree with the first answer. Try to learn theory also not just play it. My first instrument was the piano. I learned in two weeks my first song. Though it was hard, now a lot of songs seem to be easy. Then I started with guitar and I play very good in different styles. Anyways it really depends on what you like and what you are up to. I learned to play everything by myself. No classes, no teachers or mentors... so nothing is impossible. And I have been playing for less than 6 months both instruments and everybody says I'm good. So I assure that if you practice any instrument you want at least one hour a day, in 8 months youll be able to play some good music.

Try different instruments at a store. You could find one perfect for you.

The drums are actually one of the hardest instruments to play, you're all ignorant. everyone thinks that drums are just super easy, but they're not. so learn your shit.

Percussion doesnt have to be drums. It can be zylophone or timpani. So settle down and quite bitchin.
Report as
xylophone and timpani are just as hard. and as far as all the auxiliary instruments go, they have to be played at the exactly right time in order to get the effect.

Really? Cause everyone else here thinks percussion is simple and your the only one who says its hard.!;3

Choose a melody instrument or (most importantly) something that you REALLY like. I agree with "abarr87" in as that drums are not as easy as all the others say it is. I dated a "rock band" drummer for a couple years and there is NOTHING EASY about playing drums. Most everyone thinks all you do is beat on the thing and "bam" you have music. To play a rhythm instrument (drums, etc) you also have to fully understand the melody/lead instrument, too- you are there to compliment the melody instruments. Most of us listen to music and just hear the melody- so a rhythm instrument could be more work than you really want. Talk with your school music teacher or local music store for some good advice and maybe try a few of your choices. Remember- what you put into it, you'll get out of it (practice!). BEST WISHES... hope you find an instrument that you LOVE!!

No instrument is the easiest to play. You were born to play a certain instrument. Like I started out on flute, and sucked like you would not believe. My music teacher thought I was mental. Then I went and played the saxophone and after a while was able to play it and now I can play the craziest of things. So just look around and find what you like not what is the easiest.

I'd say clarinet, but maybe not. I play clarinet, and I got three notes out of it easy the first time I picked it on my first try blowing into it. But other people have tons of trouble with it. I guess you should just try lots of different instruments, because not all people think certain instruments are easy. I may find the very idea of playing trumpet horrifying, but you may find it a very easy instrument to play.

drums is one of the hardest instruments to play. i say if u want a band instrument, stay away from precussion. for me the easiest instrument to play is the trumbone because all u do is move ur arm back & forth (forward & back). even though its longer, it doesnt requier more air. the only thing different is it uses bass cleff instead of treble cleff but u can get trebble cleff music for it. but try out the different instruments cause everything is different

Hi, I now (as an older adult) play several instruments. But as a kid I found the clarinet & the saxophone was the easiest!! A trumpet only has three valves and after you've run out of valve combinations, you have to "lip" the notes and again also "lip" the notes to get into the upper register.

With a sax or a clarinet, there is a key or hole for each note and a register key to get you up into the higher notes. Not a struggle at all. Try these instruments first, then perhaps after you have gotten a real grip on it, then try a brass instrument. Drums are fun too, but it takes a lot of coordination and contrary motion to really "rock-out" on a drum set. I know because a play all four types, woodwinds, brass, drums and bass guitar.

P.S. piano IS NOT an easy instrument! I tried and would have been discouraged about all instruments, if not for my school music teacher who then steered me to clarinet and alto-saxophone

Percussion may be easy, but I would choose the B flat clarinet. For every note all you have to do is lift up one finger in every scale. I'd suggest clarinet. It took me a week to learn notes, and hopefully it would be the same to you.

I think that the easiest instrument to play is the violin. The second is the viola, then the guitar. No instrument is really easy to play, but to get REALLY good at it you would have to practice, practice, practice. I would practice at least an hour a day, every day. I used to play the violin, it was REALLY easy, but I didn't get too good because I didn't practice enough. Practice all that you can to get really good!

Good Luck!

in one year, you can play any instrument decently. so go with what you think you want to listen to in your bedroom when you PRACTICE at home. sax and clarinet are easy for the mouth but hard for the fingers. brass instruments are hard for the mouth but easier for the fingers. imho, woodwind music is hard to read. trombone is the shizz.....

I have played guitar for 38 years and taught people your age. I think the best answer
depends on your yearning or desire to play a certain instrument. I was forced into playing
piano, but I really wanted to play guitar. Piano lessons were boring, but guitar wasn't
I have been playing ever since. So pick your favorite and go!

Playing a full drum kit requires skill and coordination, but drums are one of the easier instruments to get to grips with as a beginner. For a start, the sound is easily produced with a simple stick hit, unlike brass instruments which require some initial technical ability in order to produce a sound. Also, beginners can start with a single drum--using only the hands to play, for example--before the other components of the drum kit are introduced gradually.
