I'm wanting to get a motor scooter around $700 that I can use to go to college. What are the laws for a gas powered scooter in Georgia?

I'm wanting to get a motor scooter around $700 that I can use to go to college. What are the laws for a gas powered scooter in Georgia? Also, how do you know if you can ride the scooter or not on an interstate? Is there a page that can show all of the laws for a scooter in GA?

It would be subject to the same laws as motorcycles, most likely.
That's how it is in the states I'm aware of.

Unless the scooter can achieve "highway speeds" ... you can't ride it on the interstate.
Not in a vehicle lane, anyway. Maybe on the shoulder, but probably not.

The laws for a gas powered scooter in Georgia are similar to the motorcycles' laws. Unless a scooter can achieve the highway speeds, you are not supposed to ride it on the expressway.
