You stay true to yourself no matter what. (My opinion) In the end, it's not going to matter who you were friends with in high school (friends are great but they're just there to help ease the suck of high school), what matters in the end is that you get a good education which could get you into a great college with people just like you who like the same things you like and then later land a great job:)
Don't be shy, start talking to others and try to get to know them, because everyone is still new to each other, but if u miss this chance u will b alone again and it will b a lol harder to get friends later in the year. So use this moment and start fresh and b outgoing ;)
High School is so tough because you are at such an awkward age. No matter what, stay true to yourself. My dad always told me that there would be no end to acquaintances but you will find that you can count your true friends on one hand. Unfortunately, I have found this to be true. Don't be too eager to just follow the crowd. God gave you a good head on your shoulders, don't be afraid to use it.
Be social for sure. Be yourself. And, truly really talk to kids and get to know them, then find which "group" you fit in best. (I know it's terrible, "groups" but it's reality, they are everywhere) good luck :D
