What does emo mean

It's short for Emotional. The stereotype of Emo means self-harm.
A lot of people label themselves as Emo -.-
Emo's also a style of music or just a style.

When we cut ourselves it does not mean we do it, just to do it. If you were put in our lives, you would see why we would. Some, people just do it, because they love the pain. Some of us cutters find the pain as freedom. We're helpless and we don't like to go ask for help. That's another reason why some of us commit suicide.

If you would like to think being Emo (cutter-wise) is stupid or whatever, then find a heart. It's us, really who has the great personality, who respects others and treats them right. So stop hating on us and find a heart. It can be very useful..

Emotional (And is usually associated with being sad and doing harm to yourself.)

Cut yourself because of stupid reasons. cuz you care about what people think of you.

We don't cut ourselves just to do it. A lot of us bottle up all our emotions until they all come out, then we start to do it. We go through a lot in our lives, and we find ourselves totally helpless. We don't like to ask for help. We take all our anger and pain out on ourselves. To us, the pain fixes everything that we're going through.

Emo stereo type is that you are gothic and hurt yourself. Also you are very emotional. I was asked if I was an emo once, and I didn't understand what that person met. They had to explain to me what a emo was and that is what they said. I am not an emo by the way.

Actually, being Gothic and being Emo are 2 different things.
Being Gothic, you don't hurt yourself and you are not sad. You just happen to like that style of dark clothing.

emo does not mean you don't believe in god. its short for emotional and not all emos are in the cutting
