Can i sue nightclub?

Hi my name is Agnas my brother went out to Toads Place night club in New Haven, CT, he got into a physical fight with someone, He was stabbed in the back of the head. 22 stitches, non life threatening. There were several fights that night. My brother did not notify security, He did not let the owner know, he did not call the police or the ambulance. He simply ran out and went to the hospital himself, in which the police did come to interview him. There were about 5 security guards that night, they did indeed wand people, so im not sure how a knife or razor got in, but it did. My question is, can my brother sue the Night club for security negligence?

Why would he want to? He got into fights, never reported anything. Maybe he should just find a different club.

well you could or the more likely the person who stabbed him but if he started it yes u could but it wouldn't b right

He would probably have better luck suing the person that stabbed him..its not really the clubs fault...

thank you, the person fled, we are thinking security negligence for allowing him to bring knife in club, they should have caught that

You could try. im not sure if you could get $. I think the worse they may do is fire the security from that night. Does he have description of the guy & details? The more info he gives police the better... Being a police dispatcher I can tell you that it always looks fishy when someone gets hurt & doesn't call the police. Its best to call them right away (& officers could have searched for the guy that stabbed.him)

Without a proper police report and a arrest it would be hard and probably a frivolous case .. Assault charges should have been filed and levied that night including Aggravated Assault / Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possililly Attempted murder -- bars and nightclubs are perfect places to get beat/ stabbed / shot and or arrested and Ones put their life in many others hands when they go to them --- it is also a perfect place to be Laced and or poisoned---- to say the least ...

well he police actually came to the hospital and took his statment, the club owner is denying that someone got cut in there. So there is a police report, we have to get it. they did not find the person. thx

I don't think so because he ran out of the bar and by the way I'm in connecticut and you couldn't pay me to go in toads place. anyway good luck
