Whats people's opinions on 'phubbing'?

i hate when people do that for example there was this girl and i invited her to my birthday party last year and we were all playing truth or dare and all she did was text the whole time so we took her phone and hid it in the pantry

phubbing is the act of snubbing someone for your phone. For example if your out for dinner, with a group of mates and one of them constantly is text messaging, or sitting on facebook etc- instead of interacting with the people they are with.

if that person would rather talk to someone else then why bother hanging out with me? i don't understand why people do that.

Phubbing is paying more attention to your phone than to the person who is there with you AND IT IS RUDE.

it really is rude, and has increased immensely since the invention of smart phones - I can imagine it will only get worse!
