How come you can pull one strain of hair out easy but when its a bunch its like impossible?

I thought of this this the other day and wondered why

The tensile strength increases exponentially with each strand of hair added.

because its more hair and more painfull

There's more hair which means there going to be more skin holding on to it so it's hard to pull out

The pull is distributed among more hairs, reducing the amount of force per strand to the point where eventually the pull per strand will no longer be sufficient to remove the hair
