Well, saying it on a question & answer website isn't going to go-over good since if you posted a question that said "Happy Birthday, [anyone]" is not a question and would be against the community guidelines so the moderators would remove it and then someone might get upset (as has happened in the past) and post a question asking why it was removed.
There are much better ways to express this online. You can go to a site that isn't for asking questions.

I understand that, but since Ask is a question site, the mods don't allow stuff like that.
Maybe you should all comment to someone's answer on a question to meet up on another site and start using that to actually communicate more freely. You can send private messages on here.

Negative? What, do you live in opposite land? I'm trying to give ideas on ways to really communicate. Ask allows only 3 ways: ask a question, answer a question and comment on an answer. Really, what kind of world are we living these days? If you know you want to say something to someone specific wouldn't it be nicer if you didn't have to search all over a site strictly for asking questions? At the very least my friends post on Facebook to wish me a Happy Birthday.
