If you fall and no one is around do you make a noise? Yes. If something falls they tend to make a noise.

With no bystanders, there's gotta be zero impact in terms of noise to the society.

Yes, it will still make that noise. Sound is produce when surrounding air is disturbed. That distortion still occurs even when nobody is around to hear it.
